Extending Access

Casper Adopts Ferrum Cross-Chain Bridge, Extending Access to Polygon and Binance Smart Chain.

The Casper Network has announced they will be integrating Ferrum Network’s Cross-Chain Token Bridge, to allow compatibility with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) projects as well as other, non-EVM compatible networks. This move will bring greater liquidity and accessibility across various DeFi ecosystems, expanding the possibilities for decentralized experiences such as NFTs, gaming, and even the metaverse.

This merger has been made possible thanks to funding from DEVxDAO, an independent DAO committed to providing grants to developers who are furthering the growth and development of Web3. Initially, the Ferrum bridge will facilitate Casper user access to several popular chains such as the Binance Smart Chain, Avalanche, Ethereum, Fantom, Polygon and, in time, many more.

Ferrum Network is a cross-chain Blockchain as a Service DeFi company that specializes in adding deflationary token utility and advisory services to projects across the crypto space.

With the mission of breaking down barriers to mass adoption in mind, Ferrum builds white-label blockchain solutions that empower startups and established organizations, enabling them to get their core products to market faster.

Extending access to the broader cryptocurrency ecosystem complements Casper’s strategy, along with encouraging the mass adoption of Web3 technology. By integrating the Ferrum Bridge, Casper is expanding the connectivity for its environmentally-friendly, decentralized permissionless open source protocol, all while avoiding the potential security challenges that come with other cross-chain approaches.

By delivering trusted and secure interoperability, Casper allows for greater opportunities for users and developers to build enterprise-grade, decentralized applications, or dApps. The integration of Ferrum’s Token Bridge opens up new opportunities in DeFi and the metaverse, bringing their true vision so much closer to reality.

Furthermore, Ferrum’s suite of products will aid in growing Casper’s Total Value Locked, meaning the sum value of cryptocurrency stored on a given blockchain’s smart contracts, and this will be essential in increasing user engagement as well. Lastly, being the first to bridge Casper to the rest of the DeFi ecosystem gives Ferrum a substantial advantage in the world of interoperability, and their suite of Staking-as-a-Service solutions also provides a source of utility for projects building on Casper.

This stands to be a powerful step forward for Casper and Ferrum. Web 3 developers are going to need vibrant and powerful platforms to bring the full vision of the metaverse to life. Blockchain technology offers a road forward, which until now has been largely siloed on individual networks. That doesn’t have to be the standard anymore, and we’re excited to bring this integration to market.
