Casper Wallet Mobile

MAKE CEO Michael Steuer announced the completion of the public beta for Casper Wallet Mobile, with version 1.0 now available on both iOS and Android platforms. “The wallet's development was driven by extensive user feedback during its beta phase, marked by thousands of downloads and positive responses,” said Michael.

Casper Wallet mobile offers several useful functionalities, including an NFT tab, allowing users to view and manage their NFTs, and a smooth synchronization capability with the desktop extension, ensuring users effortlessly manage their accounts. Incorporating both new recovery phrase-based accounts and older Signer accounts is possible.

The Casper Wallet Mobile is a fully functional standalone application, enhancing the user experience by allowing complete operations directly from the wallet. If you've previously downloaded the beta version of the Casper Wallet Mobile app, it might update automatically, depending on your device settings. Be sure to download it if you haven’t already.

What is Next for Casper Wallet Mobile?

The Casper Wallet mobile is set for a series of updates. “The wallet will soon see the addition of native staking support, a feature highly anticipated by the community. This update is scheduled for release in the coming months,” said Michael.

Another notable upcoming feature is the enhancement of the NFT tab. Currently, in a 'view only' mode, the future update will enable users to not only view but also send or burn NFTs directly from their mobile wallets.

Additionally, improvements are underway to refine the user interface for better transaction clarity and ease of use. This includes an overhaul of the current transaction information display, which currently can be complex for the average user. The upcoming updates will focus on presenting transaction details in a more user-friendly and understandable format.

The wallet will also receive a dedicated user interface for multi-signature transactions, distinguishing them from standard transactions. This is part of a broader effort to make the wallet's features more intuitive and tailored to various transaction types.

Casper Click

Michael delved into the capabilities of Casper Click. The innovative tool  takes critical role in driving mass adoption of blockchain technology. Here's a detailed overview of the key points Michael highlighted about Casper Click:

"Casper Click is strategically positioned to bridge the gap between traditional web experiences and blockchain applications. This feature greatly benefits users not yet fully immersed in the blockchain space by offering a more familiar, Web 2.0-like experience while they interact with Web 3.0 applications." he explained.

For developers, especially those new to blockchain or the Casper ecosystem, Casper Click is a game-changer as the tool allows for the development and deployment of Casper-based applications in minutes. The platform achieves this by providing developers with a ready-to-use framework that includes essential components like wallet connectivity and integrations with various onramps.

Casper Click’s ability to reduce developmental overhead is another game-changer. In traditional settings, maintaining integrations with multiple wallets and adapting to their updates can be a time-consuming task. Casper Click simplifies this by managing these updates, relieving developers from the constant need to maintain third-party integrations.

For developers interested in Casper Click, detailed instructions and resources are available at docs.casper.click. Documentation provides comprehensive guidance on how to quickly start your application on the Casper platform in just 60 seconds.

“Casper Cloud is an enterprise-grade blockchain indexer. It provides developers with a familiar REST API interface, facilitating easy access to blockchain data at scale. This tool is crucial in circumventing the inherent limitations of blockchains in handling large-scale data access. The combination of Casper Click and Casper Cloud is crucial in attracting a broader range of developers to the Casper ecosystem.” said Michael.

In addition, Michael also shared some key information about other initiatives underway. A central focus is the development of a dedicated developer portal for Casper's suite of tools. While the portal is still under construction, it is eagerly anticipated in the coming months. The  portal will be an essential resource for developers, providing comprehensive access to Casper's growing toolset.

Michael also encouraged interested community members to join the Casper products suite Telegram group, where individual rooms are dedicated to each product.

GBM Auctions

Following Michael’s updates, Hugo McDonaugh, the founder of GBM shared the progress and impact of their integration into the Casper ecosystem.

A Casper Association Accelerate Grant Program grant recipient, GBM Auctions focuses on price discovery and auction theory. GBM Auctions' unique model gamifies the auction process, creating an engaging and dynamic bidding environment. Blockchain technology proved crucial in solving significant sequentiality issues and facilitating digital currency use in fully-funded bids.

“GBM Auctions operates on a simple principle: in an auction, bidders either earn money or win the asset on sale. This approach ensures that if you are outbid, you make a return, which is contingent on the amount you outbid the previous bid. The system rewards participants for driving the auction price higher, thereby discovering the true value of unpredictable assets.” explained Hugo.

GBM Auctions has successfully increased selling prices, bidding engagement, and the speed of reaching final selling prices. The system has found applications beyond the NFT market, addressing the need for price discovery across various markets.

Hugo mentioned the upcoming partnership with Sandbox, set to launch their first GBM auction in January, and several other collaborations in the pipeline. They are actively exploring further integrations within the Casper ecosystem, with conversations underway with projects like Outlaw Dogs NFT and CasperDash.

For those interested in learning more about GBM Auctions, Hugo recommended visiting their website at gbm.auction and following their Twitter account. The website hosts detailed case studies, and an empirical study on the mechanism's effectiveness, and aggregates all ongoing auctions across partner websites. Be sure to check.

Updates from Casper Association

The final guest of the call was Casper Association Board Member Ralf Kubli, who shared quick updates and his insights on the achievements of 2023 and the vision for 2024.

"The Association's commitment to improving the Developer Portal is a key initiative aimed at enriching the technical aspects of the Casper blockchain," he noted. Acknowledging the ongoing feedback from the community, he emphasized the continued efforts to refine and enhance this crucial resource.

Addressing community queries, Ralf discussed the IPwe minting on the Casper network. He reassured that there were no technical hindrances impeding progress and that large-scale minting was a key focus area.

"We have ongoing conversations with leading exchanges. I assure the community that this is a priority for us. We are providing the most prominent exchanges with solid reasons to list cspr," said Ralf, also briefly mentioning the recent listing on the Bitvavo exchange.
