Michael Steuer joined the session from Zug, Switzerland, home to the Casper Association headquarters. He shared that he was there for meetings with the Core Team of Casper and various partners, including engineers from Team MAKE and Odra, to discuss the future of the Casper network and protocol for 2025 and beyond.
Michael began with an update on the upcoming Casper 2.0 release. “For over a year, the finish line for Casper 2.0 appeared just over the horizon. Through hard work and focus, the core engineering team completed all the milestones we set out to ship Casper 2.0,” he said. Following the release of RC5 last week, the team is now focused on ensuring that all tools and services connected to the Casper Protocol are compatible with the latest changes introduced in Casper 2.0.
He also provided a timeline for the release, stating that the Casper 2.0 developer network is expected to launch soon, enabling ecosystem developers to start interacting with the release candidate. “From there, the release will work its way through the usual path: Testnet first, and then, once all stakeholders have signed off, a mainnet rollout,” he explained and added, “We are hopeful to schedule the mainnet rollout not too long after the Christmas and New Year break.”
Finally, he encouraged participants to visit the Casper 2.0 space in the documentation at docs.casper.network to learn more about the new features included in the release.
Michael reminded that the Casper Association received 425 Million CSPR tokens from Casper Labs (Prove AI), and noted that the amount exceeded expectations. “Casper Association can focus entirely on the network’s future growth and development,” he said.
After the finalization of the transaction, Michael reaffirmed the Casper Association’s commitment to delivering its roadmap, growing the ecosystem, and strengthening the community. “Casper 2.0 is completed, new projects are announcing that they’re launching on Casper Network several times per week, the Casper Association and the core engineering team are firing on all cylinders, and the public sentiment around Casper has never been better,” he said.
Michael concluded his update by highlighting impressive stats from the CSPR.fans Telegram app: “Excitingly, we exceeded over half a million users in CSPR.fans, almost exclusively people who had never heard of or interacted with Casper before. This has massively grown our community, and resulted in tremendous engagement throughout the ecosystem, including with many dapps and projects that are building on Casper. More than 10 million tasks have been performed by our community, and tens of thousands new wallet holders have joined the Casper Network.”
He announced that, with Season 2 now complete and rewards distributed, the team is taking a holiday break for the remainder of the month. Season 3 will launch in early January, promising enhanced reward mechanisms and new on-chain features.
David Wulschner from Tangem Wallet joined the Space to share exciting news about Tangem’s integration with the CSPR.
Tangem Wallets are offer simplicity and reliability. David explained, “Our wallets are designed to be as easy to use as they are secure. You can set up your Tangem Wallet in just three to four minutes, whether you’re a crypto expert or completely new to self-custody.”
The wallets are available in a card format or as a wearable ring, are battery-free and compatible with Android and iOS devices.
David emphasized Tangem’s security features, backed by dual independent audits that confirmed the hardware and open-source software are free of vulnerabilities. With support for over 13,000 cryptocurrencies across 75 blockchains, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and now Casper, Tangem Wallets cater to a wide range of crypto users.
To begin managing your CSPR with Tangem Wallet, simply download or update the Tangem app via the App Store or Google Play.
Last but not least, Tangem is running a giveaway featuring two card wallets and a wallet ring to celebrate the integration.
Ajay Bhat (AJ) from Router Protocol provided updates on the upcoming integration. The Router Protocol acts as a general message-passing protocol, enabling seamless asset transfers and contract execution across 34 supported blockchains. Casper’s integration with Router is actively progressing and the completion is expected soon.
Michael Steuer expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, noting that Router Protocol’s interoperability features will enhance the network’s capabilities. “The collaboration opens new opportunities for Casper builders to integrate seamlessly with other protocols and draw users and TVL from across the broader crypto ecosystem,” Michael said.
Router Protocol’s collaboration with Shiboo and RWY Protocol will extend its cross-chain functionality, allowing users to swap assets directly into CSPR or sCSPR.
You can find out more about Router Protol and the integration in the recap of the recent Casper DeFi Working Group Call.
Following AJ, Shiboo Founder Lorenzo Stroe took the stage and shared updates on the latest developments. Highlighting Casper’s momentum, he noted, “The past month for Casper has been incredible. Shiboo has seen $500,000 on its staking platform and nearly $1 million in on-chain liquidity. Interest in Casper is growing rapidly.”
Lorenzo mentioned that he is actively engaging with several projects exploring launches on Casper. “With Casper 2.0 and the liquid staking protocol just around the corner, we have all the right tools to take this chain to where it deserves to be,” he added.
Lorenzo shared updates on Shiboo and RWY Protocol, highlighting the introduction of StakedCSPR (sCSPR). This liquid staking token enables users to participate in DeFi applications while earning staking rewards equivalent to Casper’s native APR.
Lorenzo noted plans to list sCSPR on exchanges and pair it with Casper for seamless liquidity. He emphasized Router Protocol’s role in simplifying onboarding, allowing users from other chains to interact with sCSPR through intuitive, single-click interfaces.
Iri Zohar, the Founder of Bring Web3, presented the cashback platform, which offers a simple and rewarding way to earn CSPR while shopping for everyday items. With the holiday season just around the corner, Bring provides a fantastic opportunity to earn crypto rewards on purchases from over 16,000 partnered retailers, including brands like Dell, Samsung, Walmart, Uber Eats, and Expedia.
This cashback program lets users earn crypto rewards when they shop with regular credit cards, offering up to 5% cashback in CSPR
"Imagine a user who installed the Casper Wallet a while ago but hasn’t touched it recently. With this update, their wallet pops up and offers cashback, bringing it back into use and making crypto earning an effortless part of daily life,” said Iri.
Iri highlighted two user flows for earning cashback. The first: Users can navigate to a retailer via the CSPR.Live. The second leverages a Chrome extension that enhances the shopping experience. When users visit a partner retailer's website, a pop-up offers cashback in CSPR with just two clicks. The extension’s expected launch is in December and promises to make this holiday season even more rewarding.
Maciej Zielinski from OdraDev shared insights into the progress of Korale AI, a unique smart contract development tool enabling users to describe and deploy new tokens using natural language inputs. The tool automates the process of writing, compiling, and deploying smart contracts, essentially unlocking token creation for non-technical users.
“Since releasing the second version two weeks ago, the community has generated over 100 tokens with unique features, helping the team identify areas where the system can improve. For example, many users wanted to create tokens with time-based functionalities like monthly distributions, but the system currently lacks a clear concept of time,” Maciej explained.
Korale AI’s success rate for generating functional tokens has risen to 60%. The team is working on Casper Wallet integration, which will allow users to deploy tokens directly to the testnet. Once this feature is complete, the platform will be fully open to everyone.
Maciej also shared plans for an update to their ultra product, noting that the AI's attempts at implementing creative features have led to some innovative ideas worth exploring further.
Maciej invited the community to join OdraDev’s Discord to provide feedback and share ideas. He expressed enthusiasm for forming a small AI-focused group within the Casper ecosystem to foster collaboration.
In addition to Korale AI, Odra’s modular framework continues to enhance token standards on Casper. Developers can leverage pre-built modules to create and customize tokens efficiently, supporting standards like CEP-85, CEP-18, and CEP-78. Maciej encouraged developers to explore the platform and contribute feedback to refine its capabilities further.
