Ecosystem Updates

Michael Steuer, the CTO of MAKE provided several important updates. One of these is the highly anticipated NFT marketplace cspr.market.

cspr.market

Similar to the successful launch of Casper Wallet, casper.market is set to begin with an open beta phase on the testnet, offering participants a playbook of features to explore and provide feedback on. The launch of cspr.market will include exciting partnerships with projects such as Beast League and CasperPunks, and more in the future.

The marketplace aims to be more than just a platform for collectible art, as it plans to support various assets like gaming assets and more. In addition, casper.market is designed to be a white-label solution, enabling any project or app to launch its own marketplace as part of its ecosystem. This inclusive approach fosters collaboration and commerce, creating valuable use-case opportunities for the broader Casper community. With exciting partnerships already in the works, casper.market has the potential to become a thriving hub for digital assets, enhancing the overall ecosystem's growth and adoption.

To join the beta, visit cspr.market and sign up with your email address. You will receive an email notification with instructions on how to participate when the beta opens.

Additionally, cspr.name will be launched soon after, allowing users to register and create their “.cspr” domain names.

Question: Will there be an open beta for cspr.name too?

Answer: Regarding the cspr.name, an open beta is not confirmed yet. However, there will be sufficient testing on the testnet before the launch, and a definitive answer will be shared closer to the launch date.

Beast League, casper.click, and Casper Wallet

The launch of Beast League, a AAA game developed on the Casper network, marks a significant milestone for both the Casper ecosystem and the broader blockchain industry. The successful testing phase of Beast League has yielded highly promising initial data, capturing attention as the top new free e-sports game in specific markets and garnering exceptional ratings. This accomplishment not only showcases the game's appeal but also highlights the viability of blockchain technology in the gaming sector.

The integration of Beast League utilizing casper.click, a single sign-on solution for easy integration with the Casper ecosystem, brings enhanced accessibility and convenience to both developers and users. By leveraging the Casper network's underlying infrastructure, Beast League can offer gamers a seamless and secure experience while also benefiting from the advantages of blockchain technology, such as transparent and verifiable in-game assets. This integration is a testament to the potential of blockchain in revolutionizing the gaming industry, paving the way for a new era of decentralized and player-centric gaming experiences.

And last but not least from Michael, Casper Wallet has an upcoming release this month that includes native support for ERC-20 tokens.

CasperSwap Launch

Josh Kruger, the CEO of CasperSwap, shared updates on the project. CasperSwap is a fully audited, open-source, automated market-making decentralized exchange (DEX). It recently underwent testing on the testnet, with 1,300 unique users participating and testing its functionality.

CasperSwap aims to be a community-owned liquidity direction platform, allowing the community to decide which projects receive liquidity. This approach benefits startups and smaller projects that struggle to get listed on exchanges or secure funding. The platform provides a venue for these projects to obtain liquidity and create value for their tokens, fostering a sustainable work environment for continued growth. CasperSwap is completely open-source, empowering the community to experiment and contribute to the Casper ecosystem.

The full launch of CasperSwap is scheduled for June 12, including the availability of liquidity pools. Incentives will be provided to liquidity providers, benefiting both users and projects. Users can bring their CSPR, USDC, USDT, ETH, and BTC via the DotOracle bridge to participate and receive incentives. Feedback from users is highly encouraged to further improve the platform.

Why Liquidity Pools are Important

When asked about the value of liquidity pools, Josh replied: “Liquidity can be described as the availability of other users who are willing to transact with you in the context of decentralized finance (DeFi). When we talk about providing liquidity, we refer to community members who support a project by contributing their tokens to a liquidity pool. This allows other users to trade and transact with those tokens, fostering a vibrant marketplace.”

“By becoming a liquidity provider, individuals not only contribute to the overall liquidity of the ecosystem but also earn rewards for their participation. These rewards come in the form of transaction fees and reward tokens distributed by CasperSwap, such as CSPR. Liquidity providers play a fundamental role in creating a strong foundation for economic activity within the Casper ecosystem.”

“CasperSwap provides a venue for these projects to receive liquidity, which, in turn, adds value to their tokens. This dynamic creates a sustainable environment where these projects can continue to grow and develop. Additionally, by involving the community in the decision-making process, CasperSwap allows for a diverse range of projects to receive liquidity support. This ensures that even smaller projects with limited resources have an opportunity to flourish within the Casper ecosystem.”

“In the context of market-making, the swapping curve employed by CasperSwap is fixed and transparent. This means that users can assess and understand the terms of their participation before entering into any transactions. With just one click, users can seamlessly support a project or initiate a new project by establishing a liquidity pool. This ease of use encourages broader community participation and fosters an ecosystem where innovative ideas and projects can thrive.”

Question: Will there be more information on the reward structure offered by CasperSwap?

Answer: In the first month, CasperSwap plans to provide a significant incentivized pool of CSPR, with approximately $100,000 distributed among the pools. Other pools, such as CSPR, USDC, and CST, will quickly become available.

Question: How secure is CasperSwap?

Answer: CasperSwap has undergone two audits, including one by Halborn most recently and another audit during the initial Swap code development. Security has been a top priority from the beginning, and no expenses have been spared to ensure a secure platform.
